finding strength

It seems that as each day passes by there is greater taxing and vexing of the human spirit.  Every human is affected by it regardless of who they are, even believers are sensing a weariness of what appears to be growing tension between men and their fellow man, men and their authorities, degradation of morality and integrity.  This is sin’s effect on men and the world we live in.  Sin ravages the thinking and rationale of people, and many become victims of the evil and wickedness that seems to prevail.

As a follower of Jesus, a genuine disciple of the Son of God how do we have strength to face it all and remain over-comers amidst the challenges of a hurting and seeking society?  We must remember that God is in control and that we must always keep our eyes looking to Him through His Word and through prayer, trusting Him to sustain us through each day as His perfect will permits.  Some days are filled with joy and hope other days are filled with despair and fear.  The believer who can stay close to the Father through each day is the one who experiences the peace and presence of God’s Holy Spirit reminding them to cast their “cares on Him because He cares about you.”  This the faithful believer does every day, yet the world is tenacious in demanding that the believer respond to its turmoil and to do so the way it prescribes.  It is draining and causes the believer among others to hide away from it all till it passes over.  The problem is that it may not pass over, but linger continuous days sapping the strength of those whose hope is not in this world.

The good news is that God knows our hearts and He knows our need.  He knows the battle that we face, and He loves us and by His grace He desires to strengthen us to stand firm on the solid rock of Jesus.  Let the following scripture sink into your mind and heart:

“Do you not know?  Have you not heard?

The Lord is the everlasting God the Creator of the whole earth.

He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to His understanding.

He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless.

Youths may become faint and weary, and young men stumble and fall,

But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength;

They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not become weary,

They will walk and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:28-31

We seek to live each day one day at a time as God grants us each new day.  We must also seek to fully trust in Him for the strength we need each day to be filled with courage, hope, joy, grace, love and strength to soar on wings like eagles.  We do not persevere from our own strength we overcome in His.  Be encouraged friend, the world may seem very unsettled and draining, but the God who Created it has it in His hands!

Find your perseverance in the perfect strength of Lord by trusting in Him.
