a nation in need

“Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord –

the people He has chosen to be His own possession.”

Psalm 33:12

“Righteousness exalts a nation,

But sin is a disgrace to any people.”

Proverbs 14:34

“and my people, who bear my name, humble themselves,

pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,

then I will hear from heaven,

forgive their sin and heal their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14

The United States of America does not seem to be united at this critical point in history.  There are struggles in every facet of life as we know it.  We are a nation of people leaving a moral base that is the fabric of our society and pursuing the magnification of human secularism, which basically means we are rebelling against and rejecting God.

Genuine believers should be broken over the sin ridden condition of our country and should drop humbly to our knees and seek God’s loving intervention into the hearts of the people of our nation.

Today,  simply  pray, that is, cry out to God in repentance and confession of the sin of our nation, seeking His forgiveness and restoration of truth and righteousness.  That truth and righteousness can only come through God’s mercy and grace.    Jesus truly is our only hope, blessed be the name of the Lord.

Pray for all people, all races, all ethnicities, pray for the subsiding of anger, violence, and destruction, pray for justice and peace.  For it can only be found in the God of justice and peace.

“God is our refuge and strength, a healer who is always found in times of trouble.  Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas, though its water roars and foams and the mountains quake with its turmoil.  There is a river – its streams delight the city of God, the holy dwelling place of the Most High.  God is within her, she will not be toppled.  God will help her when the morning dawns.  Nations rage, kingdoms topple; the earth melts at the sound of His voice.  The Lord of Armies is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold…

’Stop your fighting, and know that I am God,

exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.’”

Psalm 46:1-7, 10
